Come out to Compete for the Hula Hoop Title at Paradise Restaurant & Bar

Paradise Restaurant and Bar is the place to be for Sunday Luaus - we have a Pig Roast, drink specials, 
Limbo and Hula Hoop Contests!! 

Our Hula Hoop contest is a favorite Luau event and is a blast for everyone!!  Although we think our customers are some of the finest "hula hoopers," apparently there are some other people that hold titles that you may not be aware of.

Duration Record

• In 1976 8-year-old Mary Jane Freeze hooped fro 10 hours and 47 minutes!! 
• Roxann Rose went 90 hours between April 2, and April 6, 1987 (unverified record)

Most hula hoops twirled at once

• Paul "Dizzy Hips" Blair set the record of 132 hoops twirled in June 15, 2009

Hoop running (Running while twirling a hula hoop around the waist)

• 100 m: 13.84 seconds, by Roman Schedler of Austria on 16 July 1994

The Largest Hoop 

• The largest hula hoop successfully twirled was 13.88 metres (45.55 ft) in circumference, by Ashrita Furman of the United States in September, 2005.

Come Enjoy a Spectacular 4th of July in Paradise!

Great things will be happening for the long 4th of July weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks!  Our authentic Reggae band, Caribbean Good Times will be jammin' here all weekend!!!  It's the only steel drum band at the Lake of the Ozarks.  Once you hear the steel drum you will know you've made it to Paradise!
